Funds raised beyond $10k Matching Grant

will go toward remaining Alaska expenses, completing

the Final 1/3 parks and continued advocacy.

I’m excited to share that I just finished National Park Service site 278 of 417! Many people didn’t think I could make it this far, but 278 means I’m now 2/3 through this nonstop, three-year project to every national park.

While I’ve been able to share some amazing places with you, and encourage people around the world through over 500 media pieces and speaking events, the most challenging sites of my journey are coming in the final 1/3: The hardest of those will be my 50th state, Alaska.

With 17 of its 23 sites inaccessible by vehicle, I’ll need to take bush planes, boats, and back country tours to reach these parks. While I’ll still be living in my van, Alaska presents challenges I can’t overcome with my normal money-saving techniques.

Having recently lost one of my company sponsors for doing too much to help the Park Service with their welcoming of LGBT people, this new, unexpected budget loss is of additional concern.

So I’m doing my project’s only big crowdfunding campaign, when I need it most, to complete this hurdle and not have to quit this project so close to completion...having already driven 46,000 miles in the 2 years since starting this project to honor my father's passing from cancer.

I’m asking you for a one time donation of $50 for my 50th state.
An anonymous donor has agreed to match all donations, up to $10,000, so I'm hoping to gather 200 contributions of $50 to reach $10,000 and supplement the in-kind support I’ve pieced together from Alaska locals--allowing this project to see the finish line.

Those donating $50 or more will receive a personalized postcard sent from Alaska.

With no financial support beyond what I’m able to raise from the road, I’m hoping
YOU can help reach this goal by the day I step foot in Alaska: May 28, 2018.

Please
share this page (mikahmeyer.com/alaska) so together we can make this goal a reality.

Thank you.
